Out of the USMC!
Eric
Sadly this week I hung up the boots for the USMC. After 9 years I felt it was time to keep moving on with my life. I don’t think I could of timed a departure any better than on the Marine Corps Birthday ball. It was nice to go out in style all dressed up in Blues…pics to come!
There are a million reasons to that I decided to hang up the boots, and a million reasons for me to stay. But in the end I felt it was just time.
The USMC is by far one of the best experiences I have been through. There are times were my limits (both physical and mental) were tested. Out of these grueling experiences do you ever get to see what you are truly made of. There are so many stories I have. I’ll just have to jot them down in a memoir soon, before I forget!!
The one thing I’ll never forget is the camaraderie. The comraderie that we build together as Marines is something I gaurantee Corporate America has no idea about! Not even your school fraternities / sororities have anything on it either. It’s about getting each other’s back no matter what. Even if you don’t like the Marine, but because you both are Marines and of the same unit/section, we always took care of each other. I have to thank Gunny Mares for teaching me that.
To the Marines of MASS 6, both East Coast and West Coast…It’s been an honor to serve with you.

Eric, sorry to hear you got out. Actually I’m thinking of doing the same… Just don’t think my body can take much more.
Anyway, when I get back to SD (February for a visit) we should catch up.
Things are well here in Iraq, but it’s still not the same or as fun with out you and An.
Take care Bro!

Eric,
Often think of you guys, from west coast and east coast MASS-6 alike, I miss a lot of you. Wrapping up my second year here in MD at the Naval Academy, looking forward to getting back into the green machine again but being on the dark side…
Good to see life is well for you.
The time to hang up the boots comes for all of us eventually, glad yours went out with style.
Good luck in everything and I hope we keep in touch.
